Summer Reading
CHALLENGE
From Danielle (the Youth Librarian)
I am challenging everyone in the Summer Reading
Programs (the SRP & the SRC) to read a collective 50,000 minutes
over the summer. If you meet or surpass my challenge I will dye
my hair either
Hot
Pink or
Green. Vote for your pick when you
sign up for your program!
Amazing Reading Race
The Amazing Reading Race will kick off July 9th. Readers in
grades 4-6 will travel around the world, reading books and collecting
treasures along the way.
At each Amazing Reading Race event, readers will complete a leg of the
adventure, visiting a new country. Legs will consist of a book or
short story, a roadblock, and detour, based on the leg's theme.
Roadblocks and detours will vary each leg but may include a craft,
cooking, or game. Readers do not have to attend every meeting,
but it is encouraged, registration for the program is required.
For details and dates keep an eye on the library’s website!
